Yes but local crews would need work permit, if it was up to me they should kick out half of Europe from the EU, because they don’t meet the economical standards required to be a full EU member, East Europe have been used to prop us up with cheap labour wirh a workforce who will undercut everyone else, and who don’t understand the big picture of having a strong union.

I met some, and their attitude frankly stinks, one was upset because why Hungarian government don’t give them money, but happy to pay little to nothing in tax.

A corrupt and dirty company who care nothing of their employees.

The discussion is moot at the moment anyway, as there won't be any crews based in OSL under Norwegian law anyway - for now it will be just layovers and "out of base flying" for crews based in Poland and on polish contracts.

That "new" stance won't be anymore welcome in Norway either. Why would you want to have some ****ty low paid crap company, come and destroy the Domestic market for NAS and SAS? With some of their "floating" crews.
Furthermore Wizz would NEVER want to pay to have OSL crew anyway, because they cost of living would make it very difficult compared to what Wizz would be looking to pay.

It's simple, people need to not fly the Domestic routes with Wizz, problem solved, and knowing the Norwegian mentality it would not surprise me if they could manage a fairly strong boycott of Wizz in Norway.

High paid pilots wont make them any better than lower paid pilots, and because the salary in any airline is low, doesnt necessary mean that its a crap company, there are many other factors to count on here... Destroying the market? Well those routes have been overpaid for a while, good with a shake up, but the real price is most likely in the middle somwhere...We will see how this plays out, but its definately not good for Norwegian...

I don't know what influence might the PM's choice of airline have over the ordinary people in Norway, but I'm a little bit sceptical that T&Cs for the crew bother anyone outside the industry enough to influence their choice of airline to travel on. I'm in no way related to Scandinavia and haven't spent any meaningful amount of time there to know much about the local mentality, so I might be wrong, but elsewhere in Europe that's simply not the case. People mostly care about cost, convenience and those days - also about cleanliness and adherence to hygiene and distancing protocols. Just as most train passengers don't give a damn about how much the driver earns or whether the train guards are union members, most airline passengers can't be asked to factor treatment of crews into their travel choices.

Ordinarily PilotLZ, I would agree but Scandinavians are different. They realise that their benefits are funded by taxpayers (including themselves) and administered by the government for the benefit of all citizens. Because of the fairness that exists within their system (rich/poor broadly speaking get the same state benefits), they are more inclined to uphold and protect the basic principles of fair pay/fair taxation, job protection and more.

I'm sorry what? Are you arguing for lower paid jobs here? And who decides if a route is overly expensive?!

A rumour has it that they are opening a new base in Italy (Bari). It will be announced tomorrow.

No, I'm saying that lower paid pilots aren't necessarily worse pilots than higher paid ones, money is not equal skill. And every person can decide for themselves if a route is expensive, and I think that those routes have been kept slightly higher for a while now...

Well in my opinion your Statement doesn't make sense. Either you are affected by those as you say high prices, or you are a Wizz employee. In either way you might be able to explain why destructive prices are good for the market when, through them, one market Player gets bankrupt. And also you might be able to tell me since when it is legal to operate like this. At least where I am from it is not legal to offer products constantly for a price under your own costs just to destroy competitors.

As far as I know it's called free market, so if it was illegal I presume the government in Norway would put a stop for it already. And to raise prices in order to save another airline is counter intuitive, why would wizz help Norwegian? One of their competitors? Its sad for everyone if jobs are being lost but this is not what we talk about here...

Ah so in a free market rules do not apply?
Where exactly Was norwegian a big competitor of wizz so far? Now that wizz jumps into Oslo, offering dumping prices which they are able to do because they pay and treat their staff ****. So in fact we should talk exactly about this. And spare me the sad Part. Clearly you are a Fan of the likes of Wizzair.
And now to finish this, let me know some day what you think a fair Ticket price is.

Maybe because we call them an Estonian operator due to AOC and fatherland of their core staff, whereas the money is Nordic? No knowledge about your particular example yet the story was observed elsewhere.

Not sure about the other half, but I believe in the case you mention, half the money is Polish and it's a CRJ operator, no?

That ACMI provider actually works with unions in the Scandinavian countries for their bases there though... And doesn't lay off hundreds just to open recruiting on worse terms right after.
