I know someone that mentioned that from the age of 35 they usually don't unless it's an extremely tough period.
Any hints?
Yes I have the same question?
And another more.
Has anyone made UPRT in hungary and applied for the non type rated cadet.
how fast does wizz usually answer?

When I went to the assessment a year ago they mentioned Italy. Now what they have is reverse rostering for those based Bucharest.

I didn’t hear of any new bases planned at the moment. Not in Western Europe.

Expansion in the UK was hinted with new bases, but only when there was more certainty about Brexit.

Contradictory information on the news. Abu Dhabi subsidiary announced, and that they will be recruiting for it “in the coming months”.

Then in today’s news, Wizz looking at “pausing” recruitment, due to them cutting capacity by 10% until June.

Doors may be closed for a few months until they reach full capacity again.

It is not a surprise that they are cutting operations. Ppl are scared AF of coronavirus so many of them avoid airports at all costs. If thinks like that will hold on for longer then we might end up with airline crisis better than back when that iceland volcano exploded - short term - but at the end of the day it may kill whole industry for extended period of time.

Any idea what to do next?
Wait or pay a type rating and then wait?

That’s your gamble.
Paying for a rating without a job, especially with routes being slashed, could land you in a whole lot of trouble. Without hours on type (generally 500), not many airlines will take you on. But saying that, you need to be ready for the uptake. This crisis could take till the Summer to get under control, so timing is essential.
I would get hold of someone in recruitment and see how the numbers stack up before you spend.

Why are some people going all in only one carrier? I don't understand this.

Because they might be based in a city where they were born, grew up, have a house, family, friend...maybe?

As far as I know, recruitment stopped, and future type ratings postponed.

Luckily, Wizz are financially very strong. So they have plenty in their bank account to get them through this difficult time. They will probably also be poised to leap in and take potentially profitable work from weaker airlines, should they fold during this crisis. So I am quite confident this ceasing of recruitment and type ratings is a short term issue.
