Yes I meet all the requirements as experienced non qualified FO..
Yes of course I submited also on their website, even before going there and I left a CV..
I just didn't send a CV at the email adress that is on their card..

I'm happy too there were only a few people there, I was expecting at least 200 people/session as in other reports from 2 years ago.

Didn't she say we could expect an answer by the end of this week ? nothing for now..

I went to an Open day around a year ago, was told most would receive an update within a week and others had to wait. Took them 3 weeks to get back to me just to let me know I was going to be invited for an assessment.

As it stands right now, the sim is running at full capacity in BUD with new guys being sent to Sofia, Amsterdam and Gatwick just to complete company induction.
Some are having to wait over a month to get sim slots.

They are desperately requiring their new training centre to be completed to get extra sims in but for now it is just a long queue.

Be patient and your time will come, Wizz is expanding very quickly. I believe it is something around the likes of 15 aircrafts joining the fleet between march and june alone!

When your time comes for the interview, it is crucial to remember you are not competing against the others in the group. There will most likely be around 20 candidates on a day. You simply get through all the hurdles or you get cut as the day goes. The recruitment team is very friendly and will make you feel welcomed.

Excellent news.
So keep motivated and prepare ! Hopefully they will contact me at one point..

Do you remember how long you waited after they told you, you'll get an interview, and the moment you finally went there ?
Just to know how much time to prepare..

thanks for everything !

At the last Open Day in Bucharest last month, they mentioned that now when you apply for a position, the first phase will be to video yourself somehow on your laptop/tablet where you answer some of their questions and then send the video to them.

Did anybody apply recently and experienced this?

Hey everyone.

Anyone here able to tell me what the take home pay, ie after social and tax is for a new captain based in Bucharest?

I know it varies based on single, married, kids etc and flown sectors, just looking for ballpark figures.
Also, number of sectors on a 5/4 roster and are there any standbys?

Thanks for any insights

Major changes regarding the payment in Wizz Air are underway, from 01/04. Things will change across the network so for those of you who would like to know salary etc. please wait until after 01/04 for more details.

Slightly for the better but not a big difference at all. Big disappointment for most of the pilots in the company.

Why wait? From the numbers presented by management it’s from +15% to -5% across the network.

Who presented these numbers? According to CEO's letter the change should not result in a decrease anywhere.

I'm guessing he's GDN based.... They seem to have this idea that they are being targeted and will suffer as they do 4 sector days, can't even wait to see the figures to know what the deal is before moaning!

Sure they spend more time on the ground but I am sure this was thought of and they will somehow be compensated, just like how management has been trying to give equal conditions of lifestyle at each base so far.....

Time will tell.

For the short sector you loose something. I have sectors they pay now 12.5 euros instead of 45 in my case. Some days, the combination of short and medium flights gives you a lower pay with the new scheme than with the old. Included the per diem. Generally speaking if you have a lot of days with four short or short and medium sectors you loose something. But the also introduced a base multiplier for each dofferent base, trying to avoid peole loosing money.

Then in that case, I retract my comment and fully sympathise with your situation.
Hopefully things will work out for every base one way or another!

For people expecting a raise, as has been mentioned, it is a huge dissappointment and the attrtition rate especially with Captains is just not high enough as its mostly local guys in places where unfortunately for them, Wizzair is the only game in town. This new pay method is just to create more ambiguity, as is common in this compamy, raise more questions then answers, and divert attention from the pilot group from the real issue, that this is just a turd in a nice wrapping, a relocation of funds, and in total will likely cost the company almost nothing in the grand scheme of things. A dissappointment to say the least. There are much better paying companies, with much better treatment of their people to work for in the current market environment.
