Upgrade

Good Day all,

Thanks for sharing your experiences. (Bad or good)

I read the entire thread and would like to have your opinion on the upgrade process.

How long it normally takes for a new joiner F/O (3500 on type - 5000 total) assuming the company is happy with your work?

Hi Feather, it will be really a matter of months to start the upgrade with your experience since captains are never enough and especially at this moment. If i remember well you will need at least 500 hours in the company and then, according to performance as you said, you might be already eligible for the upgrade

With them hours (Providing they are mostly jet hours) You will be upgraded after 6 months.

I think we are desperate for pilots this year!

Good luck, It's not a bad company at all, You will fly a lot but there are lots of opportunity for career progression

No further requirements. Depending on operational needs. This year 75 F/O's get an upgrade.

Isn't like 3800 factorized hours, or something similar?

Fast track upgrade

Hi guys
I am a line training captain on a Cl605 mtow 20.5tons, i have in excess of 5500 hrs however i dont have any airline time.
I was contemplating the idea of joining wizz air although quite frankly i don t fancy too much the idea of getting stuck on the right seat - with a copilot pay - for a long time. So i was wondering if my factorized time is about 4850hrs based on the table posted on their website, how long would it take to get upgraded, provided that my performance will meet their expectations?
Should i apply for a first officer position or wait a bit until i get the 5000 factorized hrs and then a direct entry captain position?

Many thanks for your hints

Judging from what's been written here in the past, I would be surprised if in one year you wouldn't start your upgrade course.

I think, you only need 3500 factorized hours.

How would biz jet time be considered in that table? Airline short-haul or non-airline multi engine?

Maybe Embraer 145 Embraer Legacy would have been a better question as one is airline and the other is biz jet but effectively the same, although the Legacy is heavier.

i like to think they would apply some common sense evaluating past experience.
A flight instructor with 3000 hours of vfr instruction time in a seminole would have more factorized hours than a FO with the same time on a fast complex business jet operating all over the world...

I think they are more refering to the kind of operations rather than the type.

Bizjet to wizzair

Hi
I referred to the table as non airline but with a mctow in excess of 20 tons. That is why a seneca would not fall under the same category.

So i would be eligible for a direct entry captain position with my factorized hours?

If wizzair thinks that way then they are very stupid.
