Guys thanks a million for the heads up! I hear Jet2 is a nice place to work. Yorkshire just to clarify, if I go 80% I'm sure it'll be 20% UNpaid? But I think over the winter be it in FR or Jet2 you're faced with a lot of stbys. At least in Jet2 you're paid for it. I still think I'm making the right move! :-)

Where did you get those hours?
I have heard from a number of sources that this year's recruitment team have taken an extremely dim view of applicants from pay-to-fly schemes. Any hint of it has seen the CV binned.
Type rating with no flight time applicants being treated similar. Allegedly.

That doesn't make any sense as there are loads of type rated Ryanair guys that have been assessed/recruited and they are all pay-to-fly aren't they?

I believe it was for a short notice (perhaps a drop out) assessment.
Literally 3 days notice.
Was not a problem to J2 that I couldn't attend - I'm sure someone else did!
Advised to stand by for further dates.
So, I think there may still be positions available.

I had 2 recommendations and was in the hold pool from last year, but have heard nothing... absolutely nothing.

NCL is an excellent base, doing extremely well. There is no reason not to take NCL, it's not going to disappear. It's also not really that small a base....4 x 737's and 2 x 757's at present, and I believe at least 1 more aircraft for next summer.
Excellent quality of life up here in the north, nice easy days out, very few if any 4 sector days. Couldn't be better.
