Not sure what an OCC is but I doubt I'd know when anyway.

OCC = Operator's Conversion Course which (I was informed some time ago) is the course which an operator provides to new pilots who are already typed rated.

Driving between EDI & GLA outside of traffic would take less than an hour. But I suppose to be dual based would mean living in the centre of the central belt, which is largely a dump! I mean, no job is worth living in places like Falkirk, Cumbernauld, Airdrie, Shotts, Hamilton, Livingston, Wishaw..the list goes on and on!

Shaman, if you had a rental place Edinburgh then a bus pass would be £48 a month with a great 24hour service to Edi airport.
Arnold Clark advertise car rental £25 a day which would make working at GLA very viable. Their depot is at EDI airport.

As for living in the 'dreadful' central belt. Well its not all that bad. There are nice parts, extremely nice parts and, of course, pretty crappy areas too. But the amenities, particularly in Livingston, are admirable. House prices are a fraction of the South.

Great part of the world to live.

Teacupterrier,

Thank you very much for the tips. I would prefer EDI I must say but I have not flown for some time...

If Jet2 cannot find pilots who meet their requirements I don't know if they would be interested in someone who has not flown for 4 years - perhaps I have been out of it for too long.

I notice that Titan is also looking for EFIS pilots - perhaps there is a real shortage at the moment!

Joint GLA/EDI base would be absolutely bloody awesome for me.

I would live in Stirling... good access to the highlands for your days off and about 45 minutes to both GLA and EDI.

No use if you're trying to do it on public transport though. For that I'd probably go for Cumbernauld (slightly easier for GLA) or Livingston (slightly easier for EDI).

BTW Hamilton's no use for anywhere. Too far south.

Jet2 are using ALC as a base for the summer with Spanish crew employed. So I imagine its in relation to this.

Why on earth would you go for a jet2 ALC based job when you can be based in the same place with Norwegian flying much newer aircraft and paid considerably more ?

ALC DEC.

Do they revalidate onto the 738? I may be interested but I'm paying nought.

Oh. I had heard that non Type Rated was going to open again very shortly... However, if all recruitment is complete (as HR are saying is the case!), then I think that the plans of a good number of people in this company might have just been scuppered.
