Are you referring to courses for DECs or courses in general, i.e do you anticipate FO recruitment reopening for TRd guys?

Cheers

Interesting statement LHS320, as they haven't been able to properly crew this base since it was first announced, well before the Brexit vote. Even then the Brits and other nationalities didn't seem to be interested. I wonder what is going to happen with all the Brits stationed in mainland Europe and all the other European nationalities remaining in the UK in case of a no-deal Brexit.

From the information I managed to gather it looks like the main reason is the very high taxation and Net salary after Tax, as the salary before tax is not that bad. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Any information from OPO and LIS based Captains is highly appreciated, as I'm enthusiastic about living in Porto but I need more information regarding the approximate salary after Tax. Is 7500 EURO a/month after Tax and Social Contributions achievable for a married Captain, with 2 school going children?

Regards.

Maybe not on the first year, but from the 2nd year, with the loyalty bonus kicking in you are not far from that money with a family, with the on target company performance bonus. Definitely after 5 years, with the second step of the loyalty bonus you should be there.
You get 14 salaries per year, but over 12 the numbers quoted are roughly correct.
I am not based there, but that’s what I heard from collegues.

No. I've just completed the online assessment for NON RATED FO and invited to attend easyJet assessment.

At the moment there are no DECs planned for next financial year.
Some of the assessments might be to build a holding pool.

Things in easyJet can change very quickly though.

Hello !

I would like to know the details about the type rating in CAE Gatwick.
What about hotel and food? Where and which is the hotel?
I know that the salary is the basic only, but I heard that if you are based out of London, you have some overnight allowance. Is it still in force?

Does easy provide transportation to go there?

Thanks

As far as I am aware it's at yourself who sorts out and pays

if you are contracted by easyJet from day one of type rating then yes you will get nightstop allowance outside of your base

Thank you THEAIRMISSION,

About the hotel : When I did the assment I remember that the airline briefing included an overview on the type rating conditions : basic salary and hotel. But it could have change now.
However I wanted to know if the hotel chosen by easyjet would be next to CAE building.

I will be under contract with easyjet during the TR, so I guess transport to gatwick is included.
Concerning the night stop allowance, I remember that it was mentioned during the assesment briefing. But on my contract, that is written that the nightstop allowance is not concerning the initial training....

So I dont know...

I dont know about type ratings, but for OCC some time back they used Hilton in the airport and Crowne Plaza in Crawley. Transportations were all covered from day 1. I don't think you got nightstop allowance during training, but I think that you DID get something for the weekends spent in UK. Better to ask the company though

If you are a Direct entry pilot you will have your accommodation paid for (bed and breakfast) and you will get £40 a night in allowances. You will be paid from day 1 of the type rating.

Same as any other FO. After six months in the company you can apply for the command process. The process takes about two to three years and you compete against young cadets who know the procedures and manuals pretty much by heart. Additionally the numbers of upgrades has decreased considerably, from the usual 180 to 200 a winter to only 60 for this one, until now.

PMI has a huge internal waiting list for transfers and upgrades already, so that would take many years to upgrade into. OPO on the other hand is not popular at all. At present, the key factor in determining the length of time that it takes to complete the upgrade is your base choice. So realistically, if one were to opt for a Portuguese base it could be completed In under 18 months if the company need remained. However, as things have started to slow down people have realized that a Portuguese command is better than nothing so I would expect there to be a significant wait for any DE FO joining now. Also it’s worth remembering that eJ took on hundreds of ex-Air Berlin FOs with up to 15 years experience, so there are already a significant number of guys in the process “ready to go” as soon as courses become available in addition to the usual cadet-to-captain flow.

Waiting time talent pool DEFO OPO

Hi guys!
Just wondering how long it will take to have an offer? I am currently in the talent pool NTR DEC FO, applied for OPO, preferences CDG LGW STH.
I read above that OPO is not a very famous base. However I think that better be in the company with a not so good base than being out and waiting a potential entry... So if any opportunity at OPO better accepting it, IMHO.
In that case and knowing about the situation do you know how long will it be to have the opportunity for an internal change from OPO to the preferences listed above?
Lots of questions from a newbie sorry about that😉
See ya in the air!

Portugal is becoming/has become very popular due to the new tax breaks available for pilots, quite a few easy pilots are moving into those waiting lists.
Little to no chances for DECs to get it, a bit more for FOs.

Thanks for your answer.
Honestly I do not care about any bases. Preferences are preferences the most important thing for me is being inside of the company ASAP. That's why I was wondering about the average time being hold in the talent pool with or without my preferences.

Did you guys participate in the selection recently?

I participated in the beginning of September and this week I received the email informing that I passed and I'm in the pool for non rated FO. First option was Porto followed by Barcelona and Amsterdam.

Does anyone know how long (average ) a pilot stays in the pool? Of all who passed the only rated FO was the one who received a date for February 2020.

Things are weird in Europe with Eigle azur and XL both in france. The number of rated pilots that are available is large.
