The US is one country, that does not constitute average for every over country in the world. And that’s a fact. Salaries aren’t based on number of aircraft, but supply and demand. Perhaps all those extra aircraft cause an increased demand? And it’s difficult for foreign pilots to take jobs because of work permits unlike other countries? Thus salaries rise?

Nobody is arguing with you about US pay. Of course we have the advantage that from a really young age (20 years old sometimes) you can start on better money on bigger jets compared to your regionals.

Check your “My Applications” section on the easy site, if like me it says successful application, then expect to hear about assessments in November. I emailed them as I’m expecting to hear from another airline shorthly. I’m the same as you, NTR FO.

I’m also NTR FO with successful application but hadn’t asked when it will be so that’s good to know.

However my TUI assessment is in a week and I have just sent Ryanair my CV (no idea how quick they are) so Nov might be too late.

That is great, thank you.

QR777X are you a Capt or FO and when were you accepted into the pool? Pm me if you’d rather, just curious to know where I may fit in in terms of timelines with others.

Cant say for NTR as Im a rated FO but ive got a confirmed start date for this year. I know for a fact theres been more than 1 of these courses offered already. Im going for Berlin.
You can give them a call, Ive had very nice contact every time ive called and estimates of start dates have been more or less on point.

Thanks.

Murtoman, can I ask you how long you waited from successful assessment to being offered a start date/date of employment?

Not too long, couple of months maybe. Though must be said that I passed on the first date they offered for various reasons and the next one was about 4 months later.

Hi Guys and Girls,

Is there an average time that you can expect to be in the ‘talent pool’? If you’re getting close to the 12 month mark are they likely to do what BA do and kick you out and make you reapply from the beginning? They are continually recruiting however I know they have a huge training burden.

Cheers!

It does seem to be a long time for some people. In my case a few years ago it was 7 months after passing the DEC assessments before I was given a start date for a UK base.

Hi guys, are there any EasyJet pilots who can confirm if NTR pilots joining have to pay for their own TR or is it a 3 year service bond for example. Im actually enquiring for a friend who is not a ppruner as he would be interested in joining EasyJet but not paying for a 30K TR as 1, he cannot afford it, 2 Probably would not be able to get the loan and 3 Just not prepared to pay to work even if he could get a loan.

Any help would be much appreciated

It’s actually around £22k, and with BALPA there’s a chance you can claim £8.5k back in tax. As for not wanting to pay for their training, well plenty of others will so when they reach the front of the queue they can either accept it or let easyJet look over their shoulder at the next guy in the line. It’s a tough choice but in my opinion well worth the investment.

Hi

i am considering to apply for easyjet swiss. Does anybody know how a roster looks like? Something like 5/3 or 5/4? Plan would be to commute, if positive.

thank you.

What a sad state of affairs. EXPERIENCED pilots debating whether to pay for a rating to work for this lot.

Only random rosters in Switzerland. New contract is being negotiated but I don’t know if fixed roster is a priority.
