Regarding the cadets. Don't forget in 2001 they told their cadets then, they could either leave or work as cabin crew. It took a few years for them to be taken back into the flying program.

FPP reopening

I have heard the BA FPP is to reopen later this year does anyone have any more specific info on when this might be?

Nobody does. Just 'later this year' is all you'll hear until it opens I'd imagine. Things are still a bit of an unknown, and they'll most likely not commit to anything until the last minute.
