After reading over 40 something odd pages on this thread, can someone please clarify this;
Can you voluntarily choose a part time (50% or 75%) contract on entry? And if you wish, can you opt to stay on a part time contract permanently?

It would appear to have crept under the radar a bit, but looks like applications on oracle have opened again in the last couple of days? Seemingly for NTR too!

Cool

One of the many reasons I left after 19 years of full time at aged 54. No proper part time available any more. Just every w/e//bank holiday to work and then random part time days off. That said may change back in the future but too late for me!

Does anyone have anymore details as to what Monarch are actually offering? Is it definitely 85% contract etc? What's the average monthly take home pay for a year 1 FO? Are they looking for guys to put onto the new 737's? Or will it be onto the A320? Details on the website as usual are fairly limited.

Cool

Difficult to retire after that 'restructure' scrubbed our pensions! Gone to the sand long haul. Feels a little like retiring!

Recruitment is onto the Airbus, in order to be online by summer 16.

Boeings don't arrive until Apr 18.

Company have agreed a return to 100% by May 17 for everyone. What happens in the meantime is up for negotiations. Hoping for a halfway measure by next summer.

Ask any BALPA member, employed by Monarch "Is Monarch a career airline, or a stepping stone airline?"

Just to complicate matters, the Sunday Times today (Sun 27th) is reporting that Greybull have put MON up for sale.

ST may have embellished but probably only in the speculation on who has been approached. In one case, if its true, definitely time to leave.

As far as I know, not only have Monarch cut considerable costs fom their operation and become more efficient they have also been profitable over the last financial year. It is not a loss making airline any more! Only Greybull know why they bought it in Autumn 2014!

You have to take this profit bit with the pinch of salt the new purchasers will. When the new company came in they slashed salaries, got rid of pensions etc etc. On top of that the price of oil has nose dived. This does not indicate a company out of the woods and on a high, it indicates pure luck. Any potential investor will see this. Some of the top people that are left are now leaving. The infrastructure of the airline is still completely mismatched. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. The slots at lgw are a nice thing but if the company is left to crumble those slots whont disappear for the vultures. Unfortunately for the good guys at Monarch they already find themselves yet again worried for the future. They will either have another new boss soon who will no dowt want to cut salaries once again before purchasing or they will shut down. A crap outlook either way. I hope the good guys get out and sharpish. Unfortunately the Pilot management now in charge don't give a toss about the standards that made M great, they are just yes men and looking after themselves. Greybull have done exactly what you would expect. There's no loyalty to the M pilots anymore from the company. I just hope they all realise this and search elsewhere. Good luck to the GOOD GUYS
