Yes the message is not the easiest to open - for those having trouble it reads;

Dear Applicant

Thank you for completing the online application for First Officer positions.

I am pleased to advise you that you have been successful at the first stage of our selection process.

Our recruitment campaign is still ongoing and once we have received our confirmed establishment figures for our
2013/2014 season we will be back in contact with you regarding the next recruitment stage.

In the meantime, if you have spent or you are considering spending time travelling overseas, please be aware that any
individual who spends six months or more in a single overseas country within five years of joining Monarch (including
countries within the EU) must obtain a Criminal Record Check (CRC) from that country. We would recommend that you
obtain a CRC whilst in the country, that is certified to the date that you depart and bring the certificate with you to
your interview. More information on how to obtain an Overseas CRC can be found by visiting the Dept for Transport
website: http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/security/p...elsecurity/crc.

Thank you for your continued interest in Monarch.

Yours faithfully

Application Hold

Thanks for the replys guys,

For the life of me I can't see any attachment, so I'm wondering if there's a reason for this . Anyone else had their status changed to Hold but have no attachment?

Cheers

Monarch pilot jobs, payscales and entry requirements.

has all the up to date payscales.

For those joining with low hours, promotion(?) to SFO occurs at 1000 factored hours, I think it's x 0.9 for other airline flying and x 0.4 for flying school stuff.

Got same email and also got a feeling everyone who is in the system but hasn't received a rejection to date has now been updated to status "hold". Being the pessimist that I have (unwillingly) become in recent years, I think this is just a friendly way of them saying "we've been through enough applications now, we'll continue the chopping exercise in 2013".

Unless that is someone can tell me that many more rejections have gone out since the beginning of this week?

I wouldn't think too much into hold, hold for interview and any difference. Basically we have nearly got the 100 but maybe interviewing for new positions end 2012 start 2013 and then those on hold will be called forward

Monarch are hoovering up 757 pilots as fast as they can interview them.
If the T's & C's out there are not up to scratch, it would be a safe bet to say that some airlines might find themselves a few crew short very soon.

I got the email yesterday 'Hold'. Couldnt open it as there is a problem with their link. But you can check the message as discussed above on your individual application. They still have places left for this year, but are waiting for company final decisions to determine their need for courses next year. So basically guys if you have 'hold', we are in a holding pool!! So lets hope they need to fish pilots out of that pool for the future.
Btw: Im non-rated, 3600 total, 2000 Boeing 737, 1400 regional jet.

Email here too. Although mine came about from a paper application which I submitted just prior to the online process opening. No mention of 'hold' on my email, just that they'd be in touch to arrange the next stage when they'd cofirmed the establishment numbers.

Happy days!

Does anyone know the split of people that were recruited? I know that Monarch were after a balance of TR'd/Non TR'd, CTC and Mil but does one group particularly outweigh the other?

Have the Type Rating courses begun already? I've heard that they have courses running until next spring.

What about guys with a TR? What kind of training will they need? Or do they effectively just go straight onto the line with a bit of line training?
