More and more guys leaving/looking to leave. Some senior Capts and training Capts resigning. Hopefully this will get management to wake up abit. Although they will prob just hire in some dodgy contractors to make up the numbers.

So if Arann are hiring who? Nothing on there website, is it mainly guys from there self funded tr course? Any chance of them paying for the tr to get some experienced guys in RHS for a quick time to command or are they getting guys to fill the LHS?

I would love to fly for Aer Arann Regional. Does anyone know of a good contact to send a cv to? I have been sending my cv in for the last 2 years on a monthly basis with no luck!

I hear they are looking for rated captains at various recruitment agencies. Maybe things looking up. FO's must be annoyed that they aren't being upgraded tho!

FO's - rated ATR

I recently applied, and got the answer that they are looking for rated FO's for the ATR.

Aer Arann are an approved ATR TRTO and until recently they were charging self sponsored students 19,000 euros to get rated on the ATR 42/ 72 which must have been a reasonably lucrative income strand for them.

I have heard that the type rating courses have been suspended because the TREs and TRIs are so busy flying passenger routes and in house routine LPC and OPC work they cannot dedicate the required time and effort to teaching type rating courses.

This would explain why they have recently been looking for Captains, maybe the F/O recruitment is to allow existing senior F/Os to move across to the LHS and free up the pressure on the existing Captains, TREs and TRIs and maybe get the type rating money rolling in again.

That’s all pure speculation though.

I'd say you were pretty close Magicmick. There are certainly stories of TRI/TREs being pulled off courses to fly the line. Short of Captains, but hopefully good news for experienced FOs.
Holyjoe, does your 17000 Euros figure include the aircraft training?
