Info for pilots looking to get into Emirates
Automated e-mail received from EK recruitment:
"... We have placed your application in our Shortlist pool. Each time we need candidates for an interview program, we review the Shortlist pool to select the most suitable. Being in the Shortlist pool does not guarantee an interview as market forces ultimately determine who is at the top of the pool.
As you may be aware, we are inviting qualified applicants up to 500 hours prior to meeting our posted requirements , as long as they fully meet our requirements upon date of joining. ..."
Got interview invitation few days later.
Good luck to all applicants.

In December in one of their pilot road show info session they said they would be needing 300+ pilots this year alone and 300 every year for the next three years, the 2500hr mark was posted by management but HR and the pilots are lobbying so that it drops much more...any insiders knowing if/when this is happening, and how low can it go?

Well StinkyMonkey, you seem so sure on that point, would you care on please making a comment regarding cumulustratus post, where has received an automated post?
no mention to aircraft weight...

short flights long nights
short answer......yes
SVP Flight Ops has said he doesn't want DECs if it can possibly be avoided. training is currently coping with the numbers needed so I wouldn't hold your breath.
BTW, the "Up to 500 hrs less" thing has been there periodically for years.

I can help with the compass test.
It resembles the DLR but not nearly as difficult. Usually there are 6 or 7 separate modules ranging from mathematics to hand-eye coordination etc...

Speedy,
Not if you make the 4000hr TT, 2000hr jet requirement.
A non-glass jet would not make the "Modern" aircraft type required for the 2500hr limit.

emirates sim check
Does anyone have anything on the sim check in Dubai? Are they using different types? Would it be worth it to buy an hour or two of sim time beforehand?
Stay cool,
