European Crew Lease / Jersey Crew Lease
Most people familiar with Viking AB and Viking Hellas know that contracts were signed through ECL or JCL. When Viking AB went semi-bust in October, the last month's salary and previous month's expenses were withheld from Viking according to ECL, and therefore none of the contracted pilots were paid by ECL despite being hired by them. And that was the last anyone heard from ECL or Viking as well. Viking is supposedly reorganizing in the trenches but doesn't seem to include former employees among those whose claims need to be honoured before they can apply for a new AOC this spring.
As it seems like PW and/or CT have hired Minerva Trust of Jersey (Minerva - Key Personnel) to handle ECL and JCL for reasons unbeknownst to man or at least the tax auditors, and since neither ECL nor JCL seem to exist anywhere than on the contract letterhead and definitely not on Google or the open Jersey company registries, it would be interesting to know if anyone outside Viking have ever heard of them, or heard about the realities of Minerva Trust of Jersey.
As nobody in Minerva answers emails regarding outstanding salaries, it seems natural to assume that the contractual parts about crew insurance and so forth may be none-existent as well, and in that respect the entire operation and setup may require further scrutiny.

Hi Bugs,
I have been doing a great deal of work on this area having suffered at the hands of Viking Hellas. I have made steps trying to untangle the mess of ECL and Minerva with some success. If you have a claim then there is a process to get compensation through the petty debts court on Jersey.
