Would people leave VS for BA? I can understand the long term job security maybe perceived to be better with BA, but other than that I'd be suprised. Any VS people I've come across seem pretty happy with their lot. Suppose if you're fed up with long haul..

History would suggest no, they won't.
In fact, in the last 12yrs I'm aware of one person that left to BA and of several who have come in the other direction.

Expect a surge from the middle east to BA. However for £54000 basic , £12000 allowances n a bit of other stuff so £70000.
After tax £4000/ month .
Its a lifestyle airline but on that money , for the tax free brigade, its a severe pay cut .
Just a point of correction if I may: £70k basic (incl salaried 750 flying hours) plus allowances of approx USD12k pa. Approx £4300 a month, before pension, plus allowances. You'd be surprised at quite how many people are looking to leave the Middle East...

How many times are you counting allowances?
Pretty sure BA aren't a 750hr salaried airline either?

No idea mate. I'm not VS but a friend was at their HQ a few days ago. Don't think the hold pool have heard anything since October either. I'd say in the new red dawn, the type rating is king.

Can confirm what Thad Jarvis says about the Hold Pool. Was told in October that I'll be re-interviewed for courses starting in Feb/March. Nothing since. Type rating appears to be king indeed. Oh well, BA gave me date

I think they will have had plenty of rated NLH guys to interview so I don't think there is much hope for us.

Hi All,

Does anyone know and can provide any updated info on the what to expect at the VS interview for flight crew? Ive scaled through posts (like I'm sure many others have) and found only info from 2yrs previous.
