Hi. Does anyone know the position for B757 Type Rated with no previous commercial experience (did this as a last resort when "promised" a job!). Lots of hours instructing. Classified in the "low houred, non experienced" category and want to make sure someone agrees having done a jet type rating won't still rule me out as not having a JOC. Just worried an HR person will simply look for a JOC and nothing else. Cheers

It's not impossible, but...
The nature of the Jet2.com operation means that you would need a minimum of 40 sectors to get through line training. That is a lot of flying during the off season... This will be a BIG barrier to you. They may take it is an "advanced JOC" (my definition) and so put you on the B737 if you pay for the TR - they work much harder and much more frequently during the winter so the 40 sectors isn't so much of a problem.
Don't give up though, there are all sorts of weird and wonderful contracts out there, and luck seems to play a large part in it.

Any ideas if the contracts are 70% or 100% this time round?
I've done a JOC having never flown a jet and it was the biggest
waste of money I have spent. The theory taught me nothing I
wasn't already aware of and the sim time was just spent doing
Loft excersises just like on the MCC. Total waste of time and money.
Just another way to screw money out of desperate wannabe's.

As with any commercial enterprise different standards prevail. MD11Man gained from the experience. Wellington Bomber I understand your frustrations, getting your bum on the seat is all that matters. In the worst case scenario it is a hoop that needs to be jumped and used as a filter to weed through over 2000 applications. Better case is that it is an ideal lead in for the type rating which results in less stress on an expensive and career defining course.

It was disconnected because after his number was put on PPRUNE he was inundated with calls and was unable to do his job.
Jet2 might not be one of the above (Mr. Prince kindly acknowledged my application being in the system after I emailed him) but it really doesn't cost much to say "...yep,we got it/work in progress/no thanks but no...".
Having said that I am already looking forward since I am not TR, low-ish TT (just thar dirty 1000/TP...) and...NO JOC!!! Hope my boss never finds out or he will cut my salary because I have nowhere to go...

I think jet2 should just go back to the old fashioned paper cv like they had a couple of years ago until this online system can be made to work properly, this current system is a joke!
Flyhigh - fo pay is about £43k basic. sfo pay is about £46k basic but i believe goes up to about £49k in april. You'll be an fo when you join regardless of how experienced you are and will only get sfo pay after 3 years. No increments, staff travel is possible but you need to know how to work the system to get it. The company put 6% into the dc pension for fo's and 8% for captains.

I applied ages ago, at least a year ago, and heard nothing.
Just had a call today from a nice guy in recruitment. Asked if I was still interested in a DEC post.
Sadly, I'm not, but it shows a lack of Skippers out there who are available IMHO.

Plenty of quality DEC Skippers but I would take the phone call as a compliment.
Since the HR email and number were publicised the network went into meltdown. I believe a couple of skippers have been drafted in to help with the workload and as we know part of any situation analysis is a review. Part of that was a look through the labyrinth that is the Bond application for any quality that may have been missed first time around, yours must have fallen into that category

Did my assessment, passed the compass tests well, interview ok.
2500TT, 750 jet, 1100 turbine, UK, Europe, mid east, Asia, USA experience.

I do take it as a compliment that I received a call.
If there are plenty of quality DEC available, I'm still slightly surprised that they bothered contacting an applicant from over a year ago.
Glad to hear that a robust review system is in place however.
For the record, if my situation hadn't changed, I'd have jumped at a chance to interview.
