olicana,

Assessment days are being carried out today and tomorrow I believe for mil guys who replied to ads earlier in the year. I would guess they will start on the next batch of recruits once that is complete.

Considering that telephones have been ringing recently it's pretty quiet on here...

Out of interest, I did wonder what the general concensus was out there with the JOC requirement.

I assume that the vast majority of modular peeps do not have one.

Do people think it's worth doing one for an outside chance of an assessment?

It does kind of skew the the chances in favour of the integrated bods. But hey, you pays your money and takes your choice.

Yeh,

Captains just got a £6000 per annum pay rise to a basic of £75K, FOs will recieve a £2250 pay increase in April '12 (on top of any inflation increase) which will take them to £45K give or take a few hundred quid.

I also hear the latest recruitment took place at Oxford aviation where the candidates had to do the 'compass test' on the computer, as well as the group test and interview.

I was also told that J2 are looking to recruit up to 120 pilots this autumn. All this came from the best friend of the chief pilots under-secretary for caotic affairs dog walker.

All the best to those applying

Regards

I cannot find any login button. Clues as to its whereabouts would be appreciated.

Thanks

Correct , apply for the job again and put in your original details. It will then tell you that email address is registered and then input your password and 2 letters of your 'secret' word. You are then in to view , amend and submit your application.

Anybody know where the assessments are carried out? I believe it to be OAA but not sure. They also have multiple sites across the UK.

Anybody actually been to the assessments?

Not heared a bean so it's just out of interest really.

The last assessments were done at OAA as Oxford have a Compass set up already. Jet2 are apparently procuring a number of laptops with the Compass suite on them so that they can set up Assessment Days wherever they need to in future.

Jet2 have just transferred all/most of their 70% guys to 100%.

Some contractors (I'm one) have been offered 100% jobs to commence at the end of contract on Nov 1st, or can take the Winter off and start 100% next April 1st 2012. Not all contractors will take the 100% offer as many hail from sunnier climbs and want to return closer to home. Other contractors are too used to the tax advantages of working for themselves and will stick to contracting. that still leaves a lot of recruitment for the summer season next year so anyone wanting a job should persevere!

In all fairness to Jet2, they have treated me well. In fact, my roster has been no better or worse than any of the full time guys and girls so that's as fair as it gets. The management pilots have also (in my view) been a very good bunch. The trainers that I have encountered have all been first class and have displayed a common sense approach that is refreshing in aviation.

The Pilots I have worked with have all been friendly, and most report early because they want to get the job done properly, and not because they are forced to do so! The skippers I have flown alongside have all been friendly and knowledgeable, which is far more than can be said for the last airline I worked for.

No airline is perfect. Due to the type of operation and different skill sets / personalities involved this is not surprising. I can say however that I have found jet2 to be a very happy place to work and am happy to be offered a permanent place there.

At the moment they are expanding while others like Baby are contracting. They are taking on new a/c types (800), and have an expanding route structure and bigger plans for next year. Frankly, I see only upside.

Whilst one can argue all day long about the niceties of bonds etc, I can think of no better place for a low houred F/O to get jet experience to a varied list of destinations whilst accompanied by friendly Captains. Like it or not, I think Jet2 have a lot to offer! Just my tuppence worth.

Would it be possible for someone to comment on the roster stability, variety (earlies to lates?) and give an idea of number of days off, whether it be 2, 3 or 4 in a row at a time etc? Any comments, no matter how small are appreciated! Ta!

WhenI applied online it asked me to make a password which should have "eight characters" in it.

I put snow white and the seven dwarfs and am now finding it difficult to log on.

Any ideas?
