Jet2 recruiting service pilot????
Jet 2 just posted they are hiring cpt's and f/o's on pcc.on their pilot hiring webpage they have various openings one of which is service pilot(non t/r f/o)
what is that?why do they need 1000hrs for it?i thought jet 2 was in the business of hiring low timers and getting all their money

non t/r= non type rated
f/o= first officer

1. Go to the Jet2.com web site.
2. go to the bottom of the page and single left click on careers.
3. Top left of page left click on pilot recruitment.
4 select which category you fit in and continue from there.
I will say though though that as you haven't had the initiative to do these very basic steps for yourself are you sure you can take responsibility for 150-230 pax.
You can specify a base preference, whether you get it depends on how much they want you and what your qualifications are.

I can live with a bond, but one can't afford to shell out that sort of cash everytime for a new job.

Your more likely to get offered 737. There are still plenty of FO's that haven't left the airline that are approaching the required command time for the 757 and have been in the company for a long time.

I see another large advert in this week's 'Flight' for general recruitment ie type rated and non-type rated, Captains and FOs. At the same time there are the various contract ads running in the usual places
Like many others who applied very early in last August's recruitment drive and possibly fell foul of the then strict 'no pay for type rating - go'd like my application reconsidered.odbye/want a full time contract - goodbye' policy that appeared to be in force, I'd quite like my application to be reconsidered given that the company became a little more flexible in its approach to later comers.
Can anyone at Jet 2 say what the curent state of play is.

I was contacted by Jet2 last October, and was given a conditional invite to interview; the condition being that I was prepared to pay £25K to be put on a 70% contract. I politely declined.
Recently I have accepted a job offer from another company - I will have to pay nothing for the type rating, I am paid from day 1, and I will be on a full time contract with far better T&Cs.
Some say - the early bird catches the worm. I think in this situation the early worms have been caught by the bird.

I am in the same boat.
I was asked to pay 14k + vat for a 29k salary (and a bit of flight pay).
I managed to get a great salary and package deal somewhere else, for a company that are fully behind their crews. It is more like chess, never making a move too soon.

After the farce with the online application system, I applied through zenon and never heard anything. I'm guessing that was a blessing in disguise by the sounds of it even if I am desperate to

I understand Zenon are still looking for guys and that if Jet2 is the place for you then there are opportunities to go permanent at the end of the contract.
That said, be prepared for being self-employed through a third party umbrella company and T's & C's that are 'woolly' at best. And if you want out early for a better deal elsewhere, there are undisclosed training fees whether you are rated on type and may only need OPC and a few Line Training sectors or not
