Archer,

A lot of them are yes, but are based abroad. It's a big deal for people to be based where they want - one that Ryanair uses to it's advantage. Alas, we are haemorrhaging pilots, especially now that the guys on the old Brookfield contracts are being renewed at a "renegotiated" (Ryanair need to look at the dictionary term) block rate of 83, rather than 85 Euros per hour!

Ok, thanks.

Was a bit strange to have no answer, no contact, nothing after such a long time and be reading at the same time that they really need people.
Guess they see the passport and think it is not suitable for their english requirements.
Nevermind, considering the t's and c's maybe is a good point not to be called! Won't have to face the difficult decision between choosing to live in Europe (accepting a poor salary) and the €

good luck to all!

Anyone here have any idea if Jet2 have enough TR'd applications to cover their requirements or is there any possibility of them opening up to experienced, non TR'd/ TP bods?

They have taken un TR before but , now , it looks like TR only. Funny thing is my mate just finished 6 month contract , looking for something else, and they are already advertising for people for 6 months next year.
I weep for the industry.

Anybody know if any 737 Summer 2012 temporary guys were kept on this year? I think their contract would have ended last week, if they were not.

The Zenon guys have been asked to come back next season as Jet2 employees on 70% contracts initially.

No summer contract guys have been kept on over the winter as most bases go quiet.

Many of them were offered permanent 70% contracts starting next summer I believe.

Hi guys,

the airline I work for is going to be another victim of this crisis and I'm starting to look around for another job position.

I'm a Senior First Officer and, granted that in case of airline bankrupt any job will be fine, I would like to know how long it takes to be considered for a Captain upgrade in Jet2 on the B737.

Thank you.

Southern bail out

Just watch the southerners bail out of Jet2 as the Red Nose base opens at LGW.

I did but no luck as haven't flown the 737 in over 5 yrs now

Don't think there was many of us that got an interview though

And I'm not sure I would have taken it seeing as how bad the pay is in the first year but would of been nice to have the choice but oh well

Especially seeing as it looks like we are all gonna drop out the BA hold pool aswell

Hi

Has anyone who went to interviews in Early or Mid October heard anything yet?? I'm 737 rated and went Mid Oct - just wondering if news was out there or if everyone is in the same boat. They seemed to intimate that we would find out sooner rather than later...

Thanks

Eddy

EDDY, You only need to read back a few posters to see people talking about being offered a job and some even talking of turning it down.

B757

Hi

I'm looking for real news on B757 prospects? I understand they currently have 11. Is this up,down or the same as last Year? Any real rumours (oxymoron I know) about new B757 on the way or in the pipeline for 2013?

Contract guys and girls from last year will they be returning? Anyone moving off the fleet or upgrades etc.....

I know the 757 is all done thru Zenon.

Thanks

Eddy - A few of us have had job offers.

Regarding 757 rumours, from what I understand, they are losing a frame at the moment so there won't be any 757 recruitment. But then that was before Emirates starting picking from their FO pool again and before Norwegian opened their recruitment. Needs change, so I imagine it'd be via Zenon again. Have you called the agency and made enquiries?

Knowing the management, they are waiting to see if SAS fail, and then they know even more 737 rated individuals will be on the market desperate to accept anything, or use that as a stick to use against hopefuls.

Several guys have recently turned down their 70% offers to go to Etihad or others with newer 737s. Others who were originally offered permanent 70% Jet2 contracts but then told they were being changed to Zenon contracts (i.e. not permanent) have also turned down Jet2.

As far as I know, quite a few Zenon 757 guys have not been offered contracts (permanent or Zenon), despite being told last year that they would normally be offered permanent contracts as a sweetener.

Yay, glad to see the management back to their usual cheeky ways
Still, it's not personal. Just business. Though that's cold comfort if you want a job at Jet2!
I wonder how many people will go to Etihad? Maybe the rush has slowed down?
Good luck to all.
