Loss of Licence Insurance- APPN

I am looking into some loss of licence insurance (medical), just hit 40 and thought I should sort something out.

I wondered if anyone had experience of the APPN (Association De Prevoyance Du Personnel Navigant). Their policies look like good value. I just wondered if anyone out there had ever made a claim on the Temporary Loss or the lump sum Permanent Loss policies. If so, how was the experience?

I am British and live in the UK so any comments from British pilots would be of particular interest.

Thanks for the help.

Age limit to join is 45.

Any feedback on the APPN? Do you know of anyone who has made a claim?

In my former life I worked as an IFA (Independent Financial Adviser - in fact run my own business) for 15yrs. When I started with the Airlines I kept my business running and have researched the loss of license market in some depth before setting something up myself. Which involves policies with some of the major international insurance companies. I feel this delivers a larger personal benefit to me than the 'loss of license' policies, and at a far cheaper cost.

Due to the personal nature of this I will not post details on here but if you or anyone else is interested in cover please PM me.

I am 41. Last yr I joined IPA (14pcm) in order to access the IPF's loss of licence insurance through Hiscox. Good value.
Might be worth calling them.

Pre existing conditions

Does anybody know of a loss of licence policy that covers pre existing medical conditions for income protection?
