ARL are a newly-formed company run 100% by CTC to manage this situation and are there merely to emulate Brookfield at Ryanair.
Please define "newly-formed." My TRSS scam papers (>5 years old!) are issued by a company called ARL, 'based' in Didben Manor! Are you talking about the same ARL here?

Orange airplanes flown by easyJet pilots under the watchful eye of BALPA has to be our aim.
Hahahaha! "Watchful eye?" Please Norman, BALPA are as blind as a bat mate!! A blind man could have seen these problems coming, but BALPA didn't?

What pilots need is a cabin crew union!

Well this is interesting. The cadets involved with the latest deal appear to be telling ezy to off. Good on you guys. I am hoping Balpa can properly represent you on this.

Good lads!!!!!! Wasn't sure if they would be able to get everyone together to stand up to this deal. Sounds like they have. Hopefully people will start to realise now that these cadets aren't just interested in destroying the industry for us all and they are worth us all fighting for. They aren't just out to screw everyone to get a job. Tell BALPA you will support them,

Guys. If you are in BALPA..Please email Nick Charnley and give your support..

Even if you arent. The strength of feeling on this matter needs to be hammered home to BALPA..

Also ex CTC cadets have been contacted with a temporary contract flying for easyjet. This is for pilots with over 500 on type. Read the contract and felt insulted, straight to the rubish.

This is merely an attempt by easyJet to remove all power from BALPA and effectively de-unionise the workforce. This is something that every single pilot at easyJet needs to stand up against. I for one will gladly do so and trust that BALPA will be willing to take this to the wire.

Well after all the speculation, a little bravado at times and some very emotive posts on here it looks as though they, the CTC Wings and CTC ATP pilots, have had the courage of their convictions and united to attempt to actually make some sort of living from the profession. It is very much the time now for everyone, both within and outside of the orange machine, to unify and make a stand with BALPA against the recent abhorrent terms and conditions being offered. If not, I would not be surprised to see the CTC pilots hung out to dry. A concern that still niggles away at me is whether the entire holding pool can resist this. Flexicrew pilots are being stifled with one offer whilst new entrants are being subjected to other offers which are extremely derogatory. I am sure there are other pilots fighting major battles of their own but surely the time to make a stand collectively is upon us. Halfway measures will no longer avail.

Of course, it is entirely believable that I'll be chastised and castigated for my remarks. When the harsh reality dawns that I will be readily facing bankruptcy if I choose to work for an airline or return to a previous career path and earn double the quoted easyjet annual FO salary then it leaves me with little choice but to abandon the aviation industry and any chance I may have had of realising my dream of becoming an airline pilot. I do not think of myself as being particularly special or gifted in any manner but I have worked damned hard to get this far and I'd be astounded if senior pilots within any airline would prefer to have a PTF or the so called 'rich mummy and daddy's son/daughter' sitting next to them in that RHS. Whilst a minority in CTC can and do come across as being particularly arrogant and selfish this is certainly not the norm and we need your help to sustain our presence in the industry. Perhaps we won't be missed should we all leave for seemingly greener pastures of old?

I went through through a particularly troubled period of time with a large engineering firm and there is no doubt that human nature tends to resort to a selfish mode of operation when there are demands from management and union(s) start to mobilise. Of particular concern is how I watched ardent union supporters crumble in the face of a little adversity and effectively write off the pensions of future employees for their own personal gain. A little foresight might have helped given that, no sooner had industrial action been averted, than several of their own flesh and blood became employees. It took a matter of hours to change votes and minds and I sincerely hope this trend isn't realised in the orange ranks. Perhaps a poor example but you get the idea no doubt.

We must all collectively fight for the future. Make no mistake about it we do not want to be labelled as the cause for further reductions in terms and conditions and we are doing our utmost to resist. In certain cases, including my own, this may unfortunately mean the loss of the opportunity to get into commercial aviation, and for some time. We've worked hard to save monies, get acceptance onto the course when times were more vibrant, prove ourselves as competent pilots and nobody believes they are entitled by some God given right to that right hand seat. It would be nice to think that one day in the future it remains an attainable 'dream'.

You don't need to apologise.

I think anyone with any compassion and experience of knowing what it is like trying to get that first job after all the hard work and hoops to jump through will totally understand your comments.
As hard as it must be to hold off taking an opportunity someone has to say NO otherwise nothing will change, the important bit is that everyone stands together and says NO.,not just Cadets.

As you rightly point out it is so easy for someone else to make the sacrifices needed whilst others continue seemingly unaffected which is wrong.

Hopefully the actions of you guys saying NO to what's on the table will get others who should have stood up years ago to do the same and stand up for you.

As a soon to be redundant BMI pilot I am now scratching around looking for jobs. There are jobs out there for 'bus pilots but all in the middle east / far east not ideal if you are tied to this country like most of us are.

The only glimmer of light that we've had is that we were told easy were interested in taking on some of us. However now i've seen the deal I think I'd rather work abroad. It's all hourly rates, paid per actual flying hour, nothing more , nothing less. If you have over 1500 hrs they do pay you more per hour but at the end of the day, it's still per hour and you could end up sitting at home not flying and not earning - it's insulting to qualified pilots.

But, if you need a flying job, it's one of the only things i've seen for 'bus drivers in the UK. When you need to feed your family you will do anything, but let me tell you if I have to sign on to this terrible deal the sooner the market picks up and there are full time jobs I'll be off in a flash.That's what we are at the mercy of the MARKET, once things pick up companies will have to pay more to hold onto people but at the moment they can try all this sort of nonsense - just remember who you over !!!

BigBad i urge you if you are offered this contract to resist. I understand your concerns about surviving, they are shared by everyone who has currently been offered the deal. But we all need to reject contracts like this if the terms are going to get any better.

Bigbad, do you want to take a contract where this is in the terms and conditions?

It is stressed again that under no circumstances can easyJet be approached on matters associated with terms and conditions and pilots doing so may be at risk of being denied or removed from an engagement.

Bend over and take it and while you do smile or else!

That constitutes "undue influence" and is illegal under contract law.

Contracts like this demonstrate clearly that easyJet are using a "Low cost lawyer" - which is always good news from the employees viewpoint.

If you lot are serious, have a look here what your American brothers are doing with some of their subscription fees. Surely BLAPA could stop feathering their own nests long enough to shell out for a bit of audio/visual fun too? Love the videos.

I would love to resist this contract but when you go from full time employment to nothing you have to do something. As a qualified airbus pilot I earn a very comfortable wage which I would struggle to find doing anything else.

So the alternatives are

1. sell house (and loose money) and move to middle east/far east and live somewhere i don't want to !

2. keep looking for a flying job in the uk !!! if i don't find a job within a couple of months the banks will have my house etc.......

3. take the easyjet contract and at least stay in this country till things pick up and then get a decent airline job. In the meantime just accept you are being taken advantage of and working for less than you should.

so there isn't much of a choice, it's very easy to say resist if you are in a job on a proper contract, what would you do if it meant loosing your house ??????

I understand your predicament, but there area couple of assumptions you might want to challenge before you go for option 3:

1) "a decent airline job" - who, pray, will be offering those if they know they can fill their seats with pilots willing to work for peanuts? How long will it take for things to 'pick up' such that there are no more unemployed pilots and airline are expanding again? 2 years? 5?

2) "stay in this country" - have you seen easyJet's policy on relocating pilots? "Sorry, you're redundant in x base, you can go to Y or leave". bear in mind this is happening during a period of net fleet expansion. I would suggest that job security at EZY is even less than you might assume, even more so if they get to decide how much they want to pay you each month.

Talk is cheap, I know, but I have a family in the UK, and would probably still take option 1.

thats fine, but not everybody can just upsticks and move to another country, my other half is not so impressed about doing that and would have to give up her job. Again talk is cheap, it's easy to say you would prefer to relocate if you have a job !

the assumption that every airline will go down this route is a fair one ! However ,when things pick up (and they will) , when airlines are looking for pilots , the ones offering these crap deals will loose pilots and be unable to retain them, these deals will not last for ever, they are here now to take advantage of the sit uation !

I have read on here for some time, pilots that are anti union, "Im no commie left winger, I am a highly trained pilot". Well now you are reaping what you have sown.There is nothing wrong with associations, employers do it all the time. Does the Farmers federation or the chamber of manufacturers get called pinko ba##ards. Well no! why not? I f you dont want to stand up for yourselves, then, sit down, shut up and hang on.
Dont bag your union, remember, you are the union, so if its not doing what you want, then YOU are at fault.
