Like I said it earlier. This was an easy way for some local “ big shot ” with political influence to derail some of EU dedicated to Romania funds. Open a company, show you have serious intention, get the money, close the company, keep the money, be proud of yourself for being extremely smart and EU extremely stupid. Welcome to Eastern Europe business model.

Not just confined to Eastern Europe either:
What about Austria, Portugal, Austria, Ireland, Austria, Italy, Austria, Spain, Austria, Latvia, Austria, Poland, Austria, Estonia, Austria, Lithuania, Austria.
Is that them all? Oh I forgot Austria!

ok guys, I saw most of your posts, and I have the impression of a political talk-show, I mean someone asked infos regarding a future job, and now you are dealing about, romania, romanians, gipsys, bigshot on romanian economy, how poor are the romanians, etc......well I personally said and I am sustaining my opinion about the opportunity of romania to be member of EU.To be fair , romania has not and will not have in the immediate future the quality of an true EU member, but it is just EU wich needed another 22 millions of people inside. Why?, because of globalisation gentlemen, all of EU product have to be sold, romania represents after poland, the second easteuropean market.I know, it is not easy to educate 22 millions people, to make in a night rich 22 millions people, to cover all romania surface with hundred km of highways, and so on...... I saw many situations inside romania , but also abroad.Good things and bad things. What can I say , especially political class, justice, police are labeled as most corrupted, but, tell me a country ,worldwide , when everything is perfect......as regarding citizens , could anyone tell me if in the street, or in a public place to ask for some help and to be refused? yes, it is a long way to catch westeuropean countries, but never say never.good night!

You will hear faster from Mars. This was the Romanian version of Nigerian scam. They do that with EU money. Now I hear Romania got approved for another 27 bil euros. Good times for wise guys in that country. New scams coming up 'till all the money gone.

I got a call from Wynnwith last week

The job is opening back up, apparently financing has been secured, I told them that yes i continue interested as are a few other friends of mine, all of us typed in 320 and 330, ex-captains with NO WORK.
The desert, vietnamese prospects ? Close to nil, and we all know the real truth once stuck in the sandpit. Vietnam ? perhaps the best bet but too far away for the likes of me and my friends and their young families.
I have worked as a carpenter, barman, construction worker, waiter, musician and other tasks to make ends meet while also self financing my aviation career ( 13K hrs, 7K hrs PIC, F 50,Bae ATP, Falcon 20, B 737, A320 and 330, Long Haul Etop ops all over this suffering globe ) and I will continue to do whatever is necessary working while you prima donna whine about T´s & C´s....I have captain buddies on 320 making just over 4 grand a month and even they are under the gun as the goddamned low cost forever try and squeeze the life out of them to make more money. I say its not going to get better if not just the opposite...
Romania ? I know people from there and they are PEOPLE just like you and me. One must adapt, period.
Prima Donnas Drop Dead.

Well gentlemen : some details :

Airline operator will be Blue Air (IATA : OB / ICAO : JOR ) , a Romanian low-cost carrier based on Bucharest Baneasa (BBU). They are the AOC holder.
They are operating now a fleet of 8 B737 (2 x 300 , 3 x 400 and 3 x 800) , aquired a 9th one (B737-500 ex OY-MAA of Sterling) and have a firm order for 3 x B737-800 and 2 x B737-900 brand new from Boeing .
Aside , they have a 3 yrs term contract with Romanian Post for express mailing from 7 local airports to BBU base. For this they use some Piper on short term wetlease from RAS.

About J41 : they already announced flights CLJ-SCV and return (x6) and from there 2 x weekly SCV-VCE and 3 x weekly SCV-VIE . This is just the beginning . Rumours says that first J41 will come from Eastern and will be based on Cluj Intl Airport (CLJ).

Does anyone know aout more than one J41 that JOR intend to operate ? Would be interesting to find.

You cand find news and ask any question about the matter and Romanian Aviation (you could find professionals) on the following link :

www.fly-ra.com

Anyone welcomed . Most of the forum is in English , so feel comfortable there !

Blue Air sent me an email 2 weeks ago regarding job conditions, and asking if I agree with them. After I answered them that the job was OK i am still waiting for any response.

Does anyone know anything new?

Best regards.

Well gentlemen , I do not know if it is a bad news or not for you :
Blue Air started CLJ-SCV , SCV-VIE , SCV-VCE and will start in July 22th CLJ-BBU using a a wetleased Saab2000 aircraft from Carpatair . The aircraft is wearing Blue AIr's livery and it is registred YR-SBM.
From what I heard it is just a short term wet lease , so maybe they are still expecting the BAE Jetstream a/c's from Eastern Airways.
Keep you informed with further developements.

Hi all,

I have just receive and email from Blue Air telling me that finally they are not going to bring J41. They told me that maybe they are going to bring SAAB (they don’t say which one 340 or 2000). Crew positions are in hold, they will contact to me again as soon as they have more info.....

As I mentioned earlier, everything coming from Romania must be seen with suspicion, as a scam. It is a point of honor for a Romanian to scam you out of your money. Everything is corrupt although their talking is high. Blue Air has financial difficulties and the owner is looking to scam EU for some funds. Also as a pilot expect to bribe the management for better trips, schedule, paperwork, even for your job or to get a job. To get that pilot job can cost you anywhere from 6000 euros up to 10000 euros.

@countbat
Please at least try to be polite. Not ALL coming from Romania is suspicious. As a Romanian citizen I feel uncomfortable with this , as I live , work and try to do my best , as you do probably in your job and country.

Regarding Blue Air , they are NOT faceing financial difficulties , they only change their strategy. As Carpatair (KRP) have some available Saab200's in their fleet , and as a wetlease of Saab's is less expensive, they decided to go further with this. They are already operating one Saab 2000 regitered YR SBM on behalf of Blue Air , and two more Saab's from KRP will follow in a couple of weeks. This is the actual situation , only a business decision , nothing more.

There are a lot of foreign pilots and FO;s working for Romanian airliners , and they can tell you hat working here is similar to anywhere else on Planet Earth. So please try to judge with your head !!!
