Agreed as well.

What happened to Air UK seems to be turning into the EU blueprint.

All will be revealed on 25 November - the same time that mainline find out what is happening... one of the BALPA reps was apparently up in ABZ today for a brief from the management.

Two of the five Embraers operating on mainline routes will be returned to bmi regional.

bmi regional, which through its niche market position and a long term charter agreement with Airbus is maintaining a viable operation, is now feeling the impact of a prolonged downturn in business-type travel. The return of two aircraft from the mainline operation at Heathrow and one additional spare aircraft will result in these three units being surplus to requirements. The company is in discussions with potential customers with a view to mitigating this situation.

Proposed redundancies from the pilot workforce are 27 Captains ans 22 F/O's

The general consensus within Regional is that these numbers are VERY wide of the mark.

Fingers crossed they are right.

With regional taking on the Brussels Services out of Bristol and Newcastle will this use the acft no longer required by Mainline on the London routes or is it a shuffle from other bases and a loss of services elsewhere in the network.

...the future (3 year) plan for regional
Brilliant! Three contradictions in such a short extract.

As far as we at Regional are concerned....these routes haven't even been announced yet.

We were promised some news before Xmas...but time is running out for that little deadline!

Ok.....it is now official....as of 11.00am today!

One Emb 'based' in NCL and one 'based' in BRI.

No word yet on how they will be crewed.

Either nightstops from exisiting bases, secondments, or base moves????

At least that is a bit of positive news!

Where did the acft for the new Brussels services out of Bristol and Newcastle come from? Have some other services been cut to free up these airframes and crews? Saying on the Routes forum that 2 Jets are in storage parked up.

Nope....

NCL and BRS to BRU is a Wet lease for SN Brussels Airlines...15 month term at the mo.

The two aircraft came from london off the LHR - BRU route (one LHR based one BRU based).....That route now operated by......SN Brussles!!

Any aircraft that get layed up will be part of the heavy 'C' checks required this year....nothing untoward.

Beyond that....noone knows!

Fairly large number of pilots had interviews and sims with Qatar and most have passed. Just have to see how many hand in their notice over the next month!

That's what happens when management don't treat the troops with respect!!!
