Winch Launch, LYS and CDG are not yet pilot bases, but will probably become pilot bases sometime in the future. Rumour has it, that a lot of the ex-Sabena guys want to transfer from Orly to CDG if and when it opens as a pilot base.

There is a considerable holding pool in EZY right now and I suspect the company has received quite a few applications from ex-Zoom, XL and Sterling pilots by now. Newcastle, Belfast and Luton are the 737 bases right now.

I know that there is a considerable waiting list for Basel and I do think that it will take quite a while to get Génève as well.

Take home pay (i.e. after taxes) will be around 3000-3300 pounds/month in the UK depending on hours flown .

there is a rumour at the minute that not all the cadets are being kept on this year. About 20 of them may be laid off for winter and brought back in spring. I should imagine they will take preference over the hold pool until they are reconciled. Demand for commands will vastly exceed supply next year so any potential DEC's will need a liferaft in that pool. I can't see them offering much choice of fleets either. 737 is shorter on crews. When you're on it you'll be fleet frozen for 3 years unless it suits the company so the chances of being stuck on it are large. The european contracts seem to be in vogue at the minute..particularly MXP.

Flying Clara you are such a wind up merchant. We all know that you are being sent out to the desert to fly for the airline that easy has trained you so well for. That's the only reason they trained you after all wasn't it? You get to go fly for the airline you've been preassigned and easy makes some 'easy' money (ha ha excuse the pun ha ha ) Forget about DEP or TRSS, I have heard easy might be interested in you for another hundred or so hours if you've got another £30k though?

Careful QAFPS... I've heard that these ATP guys and possibly girl are well below standard that EZY normally expect.... Still in this game money talks. I think the 'trained well' bit is only from the EZY side.

Off you trot to the desert Clara...

I do agree though she (he or it) is one wind up merchant of the lowest form

You assume you will waltz through the interview and sim ride Clara, rather presumptuous

DEP requirements:
Rated on either Boeing 737 - 300 to 900 or Airbus A319/320/321 with more than 50 line flying hours on type
Rated on a medium to heavy jet with more than 500 hours Multi-crew commercial experience

On the basis that Easy have cv's coming out of the walls at the minute, there are several hundred rated NG pilots about and we're overcrewed on the bus, I'd keep taking the tablets Clara.

You'll be behind 22 others before you make it out of the pool.

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how many are in the Hold Pool at the moment? I was interviewed in July 08 and was successful to go on the list for MXP.

Guys we all know the current situation in aviation isn't very good at the moment, however, we must stay positive, especially for those poor people who have just lost their jobs with XL,Zoom Etc.

Good luck to everyone doing their best...things will turnaround for the better!!

Hello!

I have been following the discussions regarding Easy jet because I have a personal
not a professional interest but I felt to post my opinion regarding "Clara" issue.

First of all I have never seen a bigger mess in recruitment process as I can see in aviation field!

As for the people paying for having a job, all I feel is nothing but contempt. Therefore, I would suggest you all to treat "Clara" type of persons as they would not exist and don't replay or discuss with them because they have no right to speak or to be listened.

And also the company itself should be ashamed of promoting this recruitment
system and encouraging non values to reach in the cockpit (even if it is obviously a good business but Ethic - should have a stronger meaning)

Good luck to everyone and I hope life will bring each in the proper seat!

remember that TRSS in easyJet means Type Rating SELF SPONSORED
News to me!

I think you'll find it's Type Rating Sponsorship Scheme, but I've noticed your a tad useless when it comes to details, Clara . . .

Hi all,

I am another DEP bus rated, swimming with a label dated August 2008 and i request MPX, MAD and London (I don't remember which 1)

Few days ago i called the recruitment dep. and they told me that they were arranging a course for December 2008; the really kind woman i spoke with answered to my question about when it would have been started, she replied me that it wasn't possible to make a forecast, but she told me that anyway they would like to arrange another course in spring 2009 and as I understood the range of the date to start for me should be from DEC 2008 to sping 2010.

A guy 737 type rated who had the assessment in the same day was told maybe spring 2009, but most probably spring 2010.

My contract is going to expyre by the end of October

Has anyone an idea about what my position in the pool could be?

Keeping swimming

Spare a thought for us DEC's, I was assessed Dec 06, yes DEC 06, and while waiting for easy took a job at XL ..... last I heard was that there would be no job for me till the end of 2009 or possibly 2010. Think I might need a lifejacket!

I don't think they'll be hiring in easy over the winter period and even maybe for next summer. They've apparently asked people if they want to take unpaid leave over winter. As for DEC's their command list is long so I don't think there'll be any for a few years to come. But if times change then so will all this.....

Ok, here is my spare thought: 140+ SFOs waiting for their command with required hours etc and easyJet are still hiring DECs. Go find your local jobcentre.

Screwballs.

totally uncalled for!

Clearly this guy was interviewed when the company had a requirement for DEC's. Hardly his fault that EZY scewed up the figures (again). There wasn't 140 command ready SFO's back then. Command is not a god-given right. You have to earn it first...then pass it

I totally agree. But should someone come in here asking us for some kind of sympathy? And it is not Dec 06 now, it's Sep 08. We don't DECs right now.
