New upstart?..Who is it?
I didn't know which thread to drop this. Found this on FI today. Anyone know the more about this? Says it's part of a major airline.
Let's begin.

Hey that was sharp! Why didn't I catch that. You must be a college grad!
Actually I meant this one.
"a major European flag carrier is offering the opportunity to be part of a team of professionals establishing a new concept scheduled carrier airline."
Think maybe you can answer that one?

In my view not the best idea, would have been better off utilising the 'best' a/c to preserve the 'product' rather than try and manage with what's left over.

Angryfool,
Thank you for answering. I agree a narrow body across the pond not so comfortable but probably cheaper to operate.
Perhaps some sort of Low-Cost offshoot attempt of BA ala Delta's "Song" airline?
That didn't go over so well..No pun intended.

Round D Globe
Most ceratinly will not be low cost. If any more of an Eos or Silverjet type concept. There'd be little point in fighting AF and LH etc in there own back yard for the scraps from the back of the bus!

Does anyone remember what happened to GO?

My point exactly. When it was sold it went from strength to strength.
As BAs plaything it was never properly funded. Maybe doomed was overstating it as Ms Cassani seemed to have made a good deal of progress with it, in spite of BA.
And why on earth would anyone employed by BA move to the new airline?
If they are trying to start a loco service across the pond, they will still have to pay the going rate and with ryr and ezy that seems to be around or above the industry average.

Well one current BA group who might be interested are the BA P2s who might perceive such a move as a way of escaping BA stagnated seniority list...
Wether the (currently unknown) T&Cs would be acceptable to them is another matter.

Open Skies
"In anticipation of open skies"..
I'm not certain about the whole meaning of this. But does this mean that, say American's (with a JAR ATPL of course) will be able to work for this outfit? Or is it EU passport only.
And will JAR pilots be allowed (with an FAA ATPL) to come over to the US and work for one of our fine carriers?
Please, try to keep the opinons and insults down to MOCA height

In anticipation of open skies!
Means that a Airline can fly from another country to the US and back ,so a UK airline can fly from Germany to the USA ,a US airline can fly from the USA to Germany then to the UK and then back to the USA
thats my understanding of it atleast!

E-mail for project lauren
Hi all ,
Would anyone have an e-mail for project lauren , I have applied with the initial answering of the on line questions . Then it directed me to attach my CV and send it to a specific e-mail , which I then lost . If you try to go back in , it then instructs you that you have already applied .
PS . Has anyone any idea of specific basing , salaries , etc.
Cheers.

I can't believe BALPA will but up with any of this. If its BA painted on the side then BA seniority list pilots should be flying the A/C. Ya, I know regionals and franchises carriers but we on the west side of the pond are just now trying to put a stop to such outsourcing after getting hammered. I hope somebody in Europe would start to say no/stop too.

If it is BA it sounds like they going down the same route as another carrier trying to get a new base established.
Whoever it is hope their Pilots have the same backbone as the guys and girls currently flight for T&C..
