Post Life at Sabre/Excel Airways? How's it going?

I remember watching Sabre 727s fly into Tenerife a few years back while on vacation. I understand that most, if not all, of the 727s have been replaced with 737-800s. My questions for Sabre/Excel pilots are:

1. What is the general morale level - positive, negative?

2. What are your schedules like (maybe give an example of a daily run start to finish)?

3. How do you like the 737-800 vs. the 727 in terms of avionics, handling qualities, workspace, etc.? Big step up or would you prefer the older version?

I hope to fly on one of your 737-800s this upcoming summer on a trip to the Med.

Thanks for the info and happy flying!

Although not a pilot (I'm down the back), I think it's a whole lot better than it was before November 2000 as Sabre.

The newest fleet in the country comprising this summer five Next Generation Boeing 737-800s (737 sports version all with leather seats) and three leased Boeing 767-200s in Excel Airways livery.

Airline launches officially this week, ops from 1st May 2001. (Sabre operates until April 30th 2001)

Check out the new website at www.excelairways.com it should give you an idea of the promise the company holds.

I'd like to think most people like me are looking forward to this summer.

Nice that so many people hung in loyaly with Sabre, at last it seems to have paid off.

Any Sabre/Excel pilots out there want to describe the transition from 727 to 737-800?

Big improvement? Miss the older equipment? Any comments?

Cheers
