I think easyjet is just Fashion those days, but will it be still in 10 years ? The beatles were fashion in 70's, nowdays, it is not really the case !
If EZ get A321s or long haul aircraft it will be nice, otherwise being A319 captain in Europe for 30 years doesn't sound that exciting
In my company (I am cabin crew)lots of airbus pilots used to fly turboprop like Beech 200 or ATRs, etc and they all agree to the fact that moving on A320 kill your flying skills !!
Anyway, anyone think different !
See you soon guys
Guillaume.

As a potential EZY pilot I started reading this thread in the hope of there being a well-informed discussion about EZY's future hiring trends. It's sadly been hijacked by a troll but there's this wonderful function called the 'ignore list'. I've utilised it for the first time on pprune on this fool - can I suggest you guys do the same so that a decent conversation can take place in peace and quiet?
(It means I won't even see his witty reply to this post!)

Evening all,
Still at it then "White Cloud" If you think flying Airbus erodes your skills what on earth do you think flying long haul and one landing a month is going to do???
I think you are winding us all up. If not please stay away from my door.
Goodnight,
A4

Anyhow, back to topic, now that we've had chance to lock the flight deck door.......
Yes recruitment will continue apace next year, in line with expansion plans/growth of 15% predicted, maybe not quite the same level of recruitment as this year ( undercrewed to begin with turned into large numbers accepted this year, lower than expected attrition ). Winter is the time for training....so i expect the floodgates to open again oct/nov time this year.
Mainly FO recruitment in line with Easy's aim of all command slots going to internal positions, but realistically due to the experience spread of the company there will be a fair few DEC's taken as well.

Hi all,
Good thread here, despite the massive radio noise encountered over France. Hopefully it's been squelched out. "Joe Le Taxi" ws about the best French radio ever got IMO.
As someone about to push back and start out on the training it's good to hear that EZY seems to be pretty well thought of. Thanks for continuing to post on here despite someone acting like a twerp.
Do many EZY pilots on here work from East Midlands or Liverpool? How do they find it? Are either of these locations available to cadets when joining?
Disregarding the fact that I've got at least a year and more like 18 months until I start talking to airlines about joining, what have pilot's experiences been when it comes to getting their desired base when they join EZY?
Currently my girlfriend is based in Worcester and shall be for the next three to five years as she is director of a charity and is driving its medium term turnaround. When I return wearing epaulettes I'll be coming home to her to recommence building our life together. As we're both from the Northwest we are contemplating going back there when we decide to attempt to generate rug rats (been practising for a long time, but something's not working...) but that won't be for probably 4 - 5 years, biological urges notwithstanding.
If any EZY people could give me the benefit of their midlands/scousepool experience I'd be grateful.
Also, is there any career impact within EZY as a result of base choice i.e. can people based in London expect faster progression than those elsewhere, or is that irrelevant?
Also, I know that this might sound like a ridiculous question, but how do EZY crews find getting to their bases? By that I mean do the roster patterns mean that traffic's always fine and parking at the base is no problem, or do people find that they have to add siginifcant time on to the start and end of a shift getting to/from work? In your experience, would the shift patterns make riding a motorbike to work a no no in case of fatigue on the ride home?
Thanks in advance ladies and gents.
P.S. I apologise in advance if he comes back and says "Hey, I'm not French, but I know I am right because I don't know I know nothing!! !"

Camprax,
Please be aware that transfer to LHS is not "automatic" - regardless of demand. There are some who think that as soon as they hit the magic 3000 hours then they should automatically be assesed. Doesn't quite work like that! The factorised hours are just one of many pieces of the jigsaw. Your attitude, sim checks, line checks etc are all taken into account.
You will be assessed as to your likelyhood of being able to pass a Command course should you get the opportunity. Only if all the above "boxes are ticked" will you get a crack at the LHS upgrade.
Your Command Training starts from your first day in the RHS! FO's have a responsibility to "train" themselves with respect to knowing the books, policies, procedures etc.
Good luck with whichever path you choose.
Regards

25-minute walkaround!
Hey nuage-blanc, what's a 25-minute walk-around? A sort of exercise break while you inspect the a/c? Wish we got those in my outfit!
