Devil City Jet pilots to set up stall outside Ryan Air Head Office selling uniforms

Rumour has it that with the introduction of the new Air France uniform that City Jet pilots are setting up shop outside Ryan Air headquaters selling their old uniform kit.A special website is to be set up where Ryan Air pilots can email their uniform sizes complete with their rank. Can any one confirm this. I have no less than 3 uniforms at home and would love to jump on the bandwagon.

Re: City Jet pilots to set up stall outside Ryan Air Head Office selling uniforms

I've thought of selling my old uniforms on Ebay, but wondered if it might be considered a breach of security?

Re: City Jet pilots to set up stall outside Ryan Air Head Office selling uniforms

Let me see....someone walks into a company office in a company uniform???? Of course its a security breach...all they need to do next is copy an ID and there they go!!! At BA and when I worked for EI we had to return all unused or finished with bits of uniform so they could be destroyed and you are accountable for all items. If you lose an item you must contact security and make an official report with the police!!!
These Cityjet guys could find themselves in a lot of trouble!!!

Re: City Jet pilots to set up stall outside Ryan Air Head Office selling uniforms

Anybody can buy a black suit and sew some gold braid on it... the sensitive bits are the company emblems, which you should remove before disposing of a uniform. Without those, it's just a slightly decorated, poor quality black suit.

Every company I have ever worked for has been lax when it comes to uniforms... usually, when I have requested a list of what I have had to return, I have had 2-3 uniforms left over.

I know one guy who kept a uniform after he had left a company, and then wore it into the city to clubs, trying to pick up girls. Not sure if it worked though!

i'd say relying on easy-to-fake uniforms as ID is an security breach. but i have to admit, that our ID cards are very easy to fake and useless anyway, as the picture of the holder is tiny small.......

If uniforms are causing a security risk then isn't it time we got rid of them.

Captain Greaser, I was wondering what shifty looking fellas were selling from the back of a white van outside the white house yesterday! Makes sound business sense for the cityjet lads, there are enough gob$hites in FR who think parting with their own money is how a job works...

Hey Greaser,

Hope you're going to dry clean your rags before selling them to the RYR boys, the aroma of all that fine home cooked and reheated food would drive 'em nuts!

All da best in 2006,

Banana.

P.S. Just a shame RYR wouldn't buy the 14sicks as well eh?

Wow its a real shame that pilots have to buy there own uniform these days huh, all these so called money saving acountants should be shot after making them pay for a uniform.

On a serious note: KLM takes the disposal of old uniforms very seriously. Everything must be accounted for, anything lost must be reported to security. When its time to get a new uniform (bigger waist band) then KLM will not issue it until u hand in the old one. KLM also has an internal security company that is always on the ramp checking to see if we are wearing our ID badges, even on board!!
