European Air Charter aircraft impounded
Apparently happened at STN & LGW yesterday - due to non payment of landing and maintenance fees.
Their aircraft are presently operating out of home base at Bournemouth but with rumour's that they'll go belly-up later today.

As far as I know, Travel City will be doing the remainder of Winter Season SFB flights instead of EAF and are using Air Atlanta Europe 747s.
Frequency said to be increasing from Summer season.
Cant be good news for European with long haul programmes disappearing. Whats happened to their Kazakh flights too? Are AEU doing all of these now?

Is that TFS in 737-200?! That must be stretching it to its range limit surely. Anyone any idea how long it would take in a 732? Can it carry a full load plus fuel that far?

yes a4,
tfs from boh operate twice a week often with full loads, can make it in one hit if the weather is in your favour! takes between 3-50 upto 4-30. Sometimes a tech stop in santiago or faro is required.

Air Atlanta UK has received permission from the CAA to use,
two Icelandic registered B747s for the period 13th March till 30th April,
to provide additional capacity.
I wonder why?
One is a 747-200 and the other is a 747-300.
The application was submitted on the 17th February.
Can I smell smoke?

I would just like to add that all my dealings with European have been handled with in a most professional manner
What I do not like to see are people bad mouthing not just European but other English airlines
We all work in an industry we love and should support it rather then being negative all the time
I wish European, MYT & AV8 etc all the success, because from reading various threads they appear to be the airlines everyone are having ago at!

I was there 2002 and I have to say it was awful. They hadn't a clue. I don't know about you, but I like to have a roster that looks like it will be kind of kept to not changed literally last minute, and to expect guys to drive themselves around the country is cuckoo as they expected. Then there's the awful interiors of the jumbos. No work to keep them tidy. Bits falling off. And when crewing girl rings up to send you to RUH and then asks , "actually-where is RUH"? . Thank God I got out. Now I hear they are all sitting around doing nothing. I mean the guys there were cool and the girlies in crewing were nice, never nasty, but the level of professionalism wasn't high. And the passengers sensed this outfit were amateurs. Even the company couldn't decide what to call itself, EAL,EAC,European, EAF, whetever the mood took them. Nice uniform though for the girlies and boys.
I did find it curious when I was at EAF that an awful lot of guys left AAI to come to EAF, then they saw how awful it was and then they left. So would I be as bold to suggest they are both pretty crappy?

teachin, if you want a stable roster keep away from charter airlines, and using hire cars for crew positioning is hardly unique (ask the guys at Emerald). Fact is the bigger the company the more stable the rosters and the better the transport (no doubt there are exceptions!). Simple economics.
Having worked in aviation for years I have just had to look up RUH and I don't think it unusual for crewing in any airline to be unfamiliar with a new destination. We all live and learn.

Guys,
I'm getting really f***ed off with all the european bashing, from what I have been reading over the last few days there are a lot of bitter people on here.
For Starters the nature of business of an Ad-Hoc chater airline suggest's uncertainty, if thats not your bag, go to a scheduled airline.
European have been great to me, ok there are uncertain times ahead but there is no need to stick the boot in.
I just hope that the companies that the european critics work for never hit hard time.
