Last of the BIG RADIAL ENGINES

The last of the big radial engines is long past but the Pratt & Whitney 4360 Radial Engine now lives again,by way of the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation. 4 of these big radial engines are turning in unison again mounted on the big wing of the Boeing C-97G "Stratocruiser" owned by this nonprofit organization from Toms River NJ. The 4360 is a 28 cyl, aircooled, turbosupercharged, water injected, full feathering & reversing prop high tech engine. She puts out 3500 HP & swings 16ft 6in Hamilton Standard huge propellors. Hearing & seeing these turn again after a long absence is quite a site to behold! This was the last of the big round cyl engines produced.See us at www.spiritoffreedom.org "The Legacy Lives On"
