CB's info
We are as flyers all aware of the need for absolute caution when flying near to a CB formation, but does a CB create turbulance above it as well, or is it just below and to the periphery?

Bob, yes, depending on the strength of the uplift in the CB, the rising air can carry on upwards several thousand feet above the 'top'. Thus the vertical clearance advised depends to a large extent on the time of day in these (UK) latitudes, but elsewhere, in the tropics, say, the turbulence is there night and day.
