Santiago Volmet

How is it that Santiago Volmet can be heard over SALCO, over 400 miles from Santiago?
Bit of a problem as it uses the same frequency as London Volmet North!!

Most likely caused by "ducting" associated with a temperature inversion, often with an anticyclone (high pressure) over the Bay of Biscay area.

STG = more southerly, thus hotter, less friction, more power. More power always beats turgid , cold, inefficient draggy Northern systems. If in doubt, call London Informaton, they'll tell you what you need to know person to peson, which is much nicer.

No sweat!;)
