EFIS altimeter pre flight testing.
 

In a steam driven aircraft, barometric altimeters should be preflight tested by the usual winding the subscale up and down 10mb, checking +/- 270' then checking displayed reading against a known pressure setting.

Do EFIS altimeters have to be similarly preflight tested or do they self test?

Does the CAA have a required preflight test for the purpose of instrument rating tests etc in an EFIS cockpit?

What are your standard practices in EFIS a/c?

Case is that none of that winding up and down is happening anymore. On the EFIS aircraft you just make a cx that at the current qnh you should be reading your height to mean sea level on the ground (elevation). Then you would like to cross check your altimeter readings with the captain's readings (or vice versa :)) and see if there is more that 50' difference (up to the company to set those limits). That's all!
