787 Crew Rest area inop

Apparently, crew rest seats on the aircraft were inoperative and so the airline needed to assign business class seats for this purpose.
Out of business class
What kind of issue would cause three crew bunks to be inop for a flight?
I know it is a separate area, but I'm having problems understanding what would be so bad AND deferable (MEL or CDL)

Possibly similar to a 777 where airflow is restricted below FL200 from memory, maybe linked to an air-con problem....

Smoke detector could do it. Or the emergency lights.

Can’t recall the exact details of airflow and electrics but agreed, and we got very close to the scenario described in the link on a T7 ex Far East heading for Europe a few years back.

The snag manifested itself on the turnround and if the engineers hadn’t come up with a fix we would have had to evict some of the paying public from their comfy seats.
