I'll bite, I thought MCAS was designed to make the MAX feel and fly the same as the NG series without further training.

Feel, yes. Fly? What causes the elevators to lose authority such that the flight controls go abnormal feel. If MCAS is artificially supplying "feel", what is it doing that the flight controls cannot? Not enough surface area to control AoA? Elevators can't CONTROL the aircraft in TOGA? MAX won't drop it's nose at Stall? MAX prefers to fly Pitch Stable, unlike other Boeings?

MechEngr 8th August 2024 22:52

It's the other way around. The MAX elevators are a little too effective at high AoA and MCAS works in opposition.

The rest of the accusations make no sense.

Forget MCAS. IF AoA is increasing, the tail is dropping past elevators deflection (command), controls "loosen". Why not use elevators to arrest AoA? They have ample ND. ? Are they a little "too lively" for TOGA?

Did Boeing hit the Mother Lode when out of the blue, they realized MCAS Solved non linear Pitch up caused by LEAP?

You string words together in a way that make no sense to anyone with even a basic knowledge of the subject. Please stop posting until you can demonstrate a basic understanding of "stick force gradient".

Stick haptics consistent with commanded g.

Where's the Report button.

I think we probably have extended too much courtesy to some whose engineering knowledge is not quite up to speed on the subject.
