A320 - STD Setting Display

I've noticed that the STD/Baro setting display flashes twice when descent phase is initiated. While I don't believe it has any operational significance, I'd be interested to find out why it happens. Thus far I've not been able to find an answer in the manuals.

I would imagine that is just it. Descent phase initiation.
