Approach climb
Hello, got the following problem.
Was looking for the approach climb gradient chart in the AFM. As we all know, a double engine aircraft needs to have a climb gradient of 2.1%. This required gradient, is this gross or net? In the chart they always give an gross gradient outcome, but i thought that gross was only being used for test pilots flying under perfect conditions etc. Somebody can give me more explanations? tx |
Yes, gross.
Gradient, provided on charts, are gross and includes 30/50 meters obstacle clearance. Gross/net flight path definition are not provided in Doc 8168.

Tx for your reply. But somehow iwas afraid to get this answer. Reason? Gross is if flown by a testpilot with a brand new ac in perfect conditions. I would say net sounds better since thebac is not new and the pilot is an average skilled pilot.
