The 737 NG's supposed Permanent Rain Repellent Coating isn't. I've yet to see any repellent action on the windscreen. There is no improvement compared with any other aircraft I've flown. I've been in moderate rain conditions and get absolutely no help from this coating. I 've given up and have begun applying Rain-X when precipition is in the forcast. Cheap and really worksx

If my company paid extra for this coating, they should get a refund.

The 737NG has no rain repellant fitted so you are left with just the resin coating. I have to say that in over 1000 hours of flying the -800 I found the visibility in moderate rain perfectly acceptable.
How can you apply RainX to your windscreen if rain is forecast on the NG?

Fly the classic and the rain repellant was deactivated years ago. No problems.
