Holding speeds
 

Hey guys,

I'm having some trouble in sorting out what maximum holding speed must be used when and where.
My first question: on the bottom left side of IFR approach charts you can find PANS OPS /3/4. What holding speed table should i use with according to which PANS OPS?
a) 0-14000ft max 230/14001-20000ft max 240/20001-34000ft max 265/....
b) 0-6000ft max 210/6001-14000ft max 220/14001-..ft max 240
Second question: how do i know what speed to use in case of holding in arrival route (STAR) and en-route?
