Line / Route Check

Hi,

Does anyone know if a route check (Once a year) for a PIC could be
given in a flight simulator?

Yes, I know.

No, it cannot.

The PC (Proficiency Check) can be (and normally is) done in the simulator. The Line Check must be done in an airplane, "on the line."

Difference between line and route check

It appears that both terms are same.
Which countries / jurisdictions use which terms, if anybody can advise.
