734 Aileron Trim
Hi there,
I was reading up on the aileron trim on the net and was told that the fwd aileron trim switch controls the direction and the aft aileron trim switch is a earth ground switch. Apparently to eliminates the spurious electrical interference. Can anyone help me explaining more on this as it baffles me to as why there is a need for 2 switch for the aileron trim. thank alot!!:):) |
This is a precaution against one switch failing and causing runaway trim - all aircraft that use electrical aileron trim use two switches which must be operated together - as you say one switch is directional the other not.

Thanks for the reply!! =)

The stabilizer electrical trim is made up of 2 switches as well, for the same reason.
It needs 2 electrical signal to confirm the intention of moving that control, to avoid spurious movement and dangerous consequences like trim runaway. |
