'Procedural use of flaps' Hawker 800XP
Hello,
I am looking for the correct understanding of the limitation connected to the statement; 'Procedural Use of Flaps 15° for Descent and Holding. The maximum airspeed for procedural use of flaps 15° for descent and holding is 220 KIAS. The maximum altitude for use is 15,000 ft. Such use of wing flaps is not permitted in icing conditions.' The general limitation for flap and gear is 20,000ft. Does this limitation relate to procedural approach or something else? LF |
IIRC the structural certification (gust responce?) has different assumptions between procedural 'holding' use of flaps, and other uses. Thus there could be different speed/altitude limits.
In my previous aircraft this was interpreted as a holding speed limit only, but the 125 appears also to limit use during descent. CS-25.345 “(a) If wing-flaps are to be used during take-off, approach, or landing, at the design flap speeds established for these stages of flight under CS 25.335 … (c) If flaps or other high lift devices are to be used in en-route conditions, and with flaps in the appropriate position at speeds up to the flap design speed chosen for these conditions, … ” |
