Garmin Avionics

Garmin seems to be the standard in GA avionics these days.

Is Garmin likely to persue certification higher up the weight scale, ultimately to airline jets.

What is the difference in certification requirements for large jets.

Higher up the scale; likely. To airline jets; perhaps at the commuter level, but not likely with the heavy iron where IRUs need to be integrated into the avionics suite. Honeywell has a near-monoply there, at least with U.S. OEMs. And, don't count Rockwell-Collins out. They are very active in the turboprop and small jet arena.

Part 25 instead of Part 23. An avionics engineer would need to set forth the technical differences.
