atr42-500,,engineflameout specifics
hello, guys,,watsup,,the checklist for engine flameout says that if one engine flamedout ,,wait for nh to drop below 30percent and if no autorelight then fuel shutooff,,this is for the atr 42-500,,nd then proceeding forward it says if DAMAGE THEN,,use firehandle for precaution,,how the hell wud u know that the engine is damaged,,ok second question,,what is the minimum single engine gross ceiling for the atr ,,,42-500,,wat i mean is for example,if im flying at 3000 feet,,say if im cruising hypothetically speaking,,and my engine flamesout,,one engine,,i really dont need to calculate the single engine gross ceiling r8??as im already quite low,,so i dunt need to go backk to the end of my checklist and this wud save me time,,plus,,which speed shud i maintain now,,,as i dont need any drift down speed for drift down procedure,,will i maintain cruise speed,,???

another question ,,in case of engine failure is it necesssay to apply aileron trim aswell after the rudder trim,,
|
1...the EEC keeps the ignitors on till 30%, hopeful for a relight
2 engine damage can be suspected if you hear abnormal noises, flt attndt can be used to check for any visual oil splashes, visual inspection from your station, etc 3. If you are below the SE ceiling and happy to maintain --then no prob. You will get better speeds the lower you are. if it helps use these speeds. so obviously if happy at 3000, then you can safely call out below the SE ceiling, if you feel opening the perf to chk your ceiling is not worth it ! 4. for a balanced flight aerodynamically you will req wee bit aileron. |
Pilotsaab, check your PM's

How about this:
Engine damage: Rough running, horrible noises, abnormally high temperatures, total seizure of stages, oil pissing out etc... If you are not sure go and have a look yourself. SE ceiling: I'll guess you'll get a 1% net climb on most days to at least 9,000' because the Fokker 50 could do that. Speed: How about 200kts. Nice round number. Trim: Rudder first then aileron. PM |
