Using EPR as reference (A340-600)
Gentlemen,
does anyone of you know a rule of thumb for using EPR as thrust reference when handflying the 340-600 on final approach? I know, most of you guys believe in N1. So do I, but I found the N1 gauges on the 346 pretty hard to use, setting a constant N1 will not achieve a stable speed. I remember the PW engines (2040, 4060), you could fly on the dot by setting a certain EPR value. Our training told us to use N1, but I am not quite convinced about that. So, there must be a guideline or rule of thumb for using EPR...? |
