Anti flail device redesign
 

I am embarking on a project to redesign a helicopter (apache) drive shaft anti-flail device as part of an engineering degree course.

The current device is a one piece 'hoop' design, we are wanting to replace it with a hinged or detachable 2-piece design.

Does anybody out there have any advice, thoughts or potential contacts that could assist my team with this design?

Any infomation / ideas no matter how small could have a positive impact on this study therefore would be appreciated.
