What height....Flightpath into Liverpool
 

As an interested bit of SLF living on the Wirral under the flightpath into Liverpool,could any Easy or Ryan pilots tell me what height they're at as they fly over Heswall? Also,why do some planes have the landing gear down and others don't?

Somewhere between 2000 and 2500 feet (above sea level) where you are depending on ATC, weather etc. In an ideal world at 2500 the gear goes down at or near to Heswall, 2000 it goes down nearer Brimstage. These places of course will mean absolutely nothing to the rest of the world but at least I've answered your question.

the reason we are so low is that manchester own the airspace directly above and west of the airport so we have to be 3000ft or below abeam the field if we are on runway 27.at ryan we try to drop the gear around 4 miles from the runway to save noise and fuel,sometimes further out if there is a tailwind or we are to fast.some companies drop the gear further out as they intercept glide.

If you evor 'av the chance to observe approaches from t'east you'll notice that both Ryanscare and zleazEjet leave the gear up for much longer.
