Let's do that again!
Brisbane last week - a QF 767 begins take-off roll but after a very short distance throttles back and exits runway. Returns to holding point, rejoins runway and proceeds to take off. As far as I could see from the terminal there had been no other aircraft, vehicles, people etc on the runway, nor had there been any other aircraft departing immediately prior (re wake issues). Anyone from Brisbane know what might have been the reason for this particular event or what might be the reason more generally?

Unfortunately, you'll probably never know. There are a myriad of things that may cause such a scenario: they heard a "noise"; they got an abnormal engine indication; they saw something on the runway that you didn't; they got a door open message...The list is endless. Sorry.
