best flight bag

What's the best out there?

Trying to decide between the Scott Leather Jumbo flight kit and the Coyote Works bag.

Any suggestions?

They're both great bags. What color are your stripes? The Coyote bag has silver hardware, the Scott's come with gold hardware.

Also the skidplates on the Coyote bag are nice. I like the "up-armored" feel.

how are the locks on the coyote works bag? Same quality as the Scott bag?

I heard that the only thing wrong with the Scott bags is that the latches are cheap.

Not too bad at all....

Can you not take that Ikea bag as your flight bag for april fools. Do the airlines allow you to freak your passengers out like that. I.E Taking a teddy bear under your arm as if your teddy has to travel everywhere with you.

It carries easily a teddy bear.

anyone have any comment concerning the Coyote Works bag?

Jonny-no-stars 9th December 2007 16:23

Hetfield

Please be advised that humour is completely wasted when dealing with the good people of Canadia.

They match the twiddley bits on their bags to their stripes
:\

@Jonny

Thx for the advice. In future I'll tread them more carefully;)

Where's Canadia?

lol! I appreciate the humour! The Ikea bag is hilarious! :D However, just looking for some concrete info. thanks!

I emailed Scott Leather over a week ago, with some questions re their bag. I'll go blue in the face if they don't reply soon! :ouch:

Capn Bloggs 10th December 2007 05:28

They don't sell to drunks, Clarrie! :E

Hi, have you ever considered the Classic Korchmar Aviator Catalog Case?
It looks very nice.

Bye

I like the ''skid plates'' on the coyote works bag. Is the rest of the bag good as well?

Telstar 15th December 2007 15:11

It's very very hard to beat the one Argos does. 20 odd squids and bears an uncanny resemblance to the ones the catalouges for 3-4 times the price, and at 20 odd quid, you can replace them every year!

Fundamentally it's a big leather box, but I like the Coyote bag. Nice thick leather, good handle, the skid plates take the worry out of any drags, silver colored hardware. I also wanted a bag where I didn't have to thread the handle through the top, nor gather two "saddle straps" together to form the handle. The Coyote fit the bill, though I believe Scott has a similar option.

i have the coyote bag (over a yr now) and its the best bag i have EVER had! the skid plates are fantastic! The leather is through died and top quality! Couldn't be happier with this product:ok:

The best one is the lightest one..so at least you will save some fuel...:ouch:

Max Angle 16th December 2007 13:08

The best flight bag is a small one, this removes the temptation to carry around a whole load of stuff which you will never use or look at.
