Jet engine warm-up time

Quick question.

Is there a minimum engine warm-up time on a CFM-56 (B738) before take off?

I'm finding it that I'm taking-off within 2 mins of engine 1 start due short taxy to runway.

My concern is now during winter time the A/C will have been standing static during the night in temps of -5 to -10 celcius, with a departure at 6.30am.

Cheers for the help.

For your engine I can not answer, but for a Tay (620 & 650), we give the following minimum times based on oil temperature: < +20 Celcius = 4 minutes, +20 to +30 Celcius = 3 minutes, > +30 celcius = 4 minutes.

Whatever the manual says for your specific engine instalation, all others may vary

Think 5 minutes on the V2500, and don't recall for the CFM, 50C for the oil I think. :}

FH: I can only quote an Airbus manual, yet I believe the engine limitations are not airframe dependant:

minimum oil temperature for take-off -10° C

no other information! I seem to recall 3 minutes requirement from start-up to take-off thrust, yet couldn't find it. :yuk:

Between +20c to +40c, with the Tays it's 3 minutes, and above +40c it's 2 minutes.

Your companies cold weather operating procedures should answer this.
Most of the time its a limitation based on oil temp.
